Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner

Finished Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner. Loved it!
So the book takes us back and forth. We see the two main characters Addie and Val go from childhood to high school. Next we are in the present time around their high school reunion. I'm thinking it was the 15th anniversay? I don't think it was 10th. Could be wrong.
For some reason as I was reading this I kept thinking Thelma and Louise. I was waiting for Brad Pitt to come in the picture. Of course they didn't drive off a cliff. Or did they?? Ha-ha.
The two stopped being best friends in high school and stopped talking. It takes an incident to get the two back together and of course there is a little love in there. Wished there had been more interaction with the two characters following in love.
But overall the book was really good. Might just have to get out one of her older books to read.
It did make me think of high school. I wasn't popular, but I wasn't in the out group. I was just there. It also made me think of some of the people who I don't talk to anymore. These are the people I was really close to growing up with but lost touch. Did the book make me want to contact some of those people? Yup, some. Unfortunately those I would love to catch up with, I'm not sure where they are. As far as I know they didn't attend the 10 year reunion. I didn't either. But that's a whole another blog.

  1. There's always facebook. I have found way too many of my friends from back in the day there. Or they've found me. One of my besties from grade school had a pic of herself topless as her profile picture, which I totally did not need to see.

I was also just "there" in high school. I didn't want to be there, though, which might have been part of the problem. :)

BTW, I gave you an award on my blog: http://heidenkind.blogspot.com/2009/08/awards-spreading-love.html
