Vampire Diaries

I wish I had written a review after each book. So this one will probably be short as possible. Otherwise, I could go on and on about each book.
I loved the series. I was disappointment when I closed the last book. Do I really have to wait until the next one in the series? Which by the way is in Feb, 2010. Can't wait!
I have to admit, I didn't care for Elena. She was a good character don't get me wrong. She helped build the series after all. I just found her annoying at times. Part of the problem was I kept thinking she was stuck up. Elena this, Elena that. Maybe it was just me. I mean I know she cared about her family and friends. My friend who was reading the series along with me, also didn't care for Elena. Were we the only ones?
We both did like Bonnie. I would have loved to see more of her. Sure we go a book with a lot of her in first person, but I found her more lovable.
At the beginning of the book, I was cheering on Stefan and Elena. Than it was Elena and Damon. By the end of the series I'm back to Stefan and Elena. I kind of hope to see Bonnie and Damon together. So you can guess I didn't like the last book when it was Elena and Damon this or that.
Each villian kept the story going. Wished there had been more Katherine. Sure she was causing problems from the beginning. But when we finally see her, we see her and than she is gone. I would have loved it if she was in the next book somehow.
I can't wait for the next book. Will definitely be getting it the week it comes out. Maybe by some miracle, I will have caught up with all my books. A girl can dream can't they?
I also bought Night World and The Secret Circle. Looking forward to reading them.

  2. I didn't like Elena at first, but she grew on me. Bonnie is a great character, but I'm glad she's not the main character. Elena is flawed--you're absolutely right, it is all about Elena--and she has to go through all the stuff she does before she realizes that it ISN'T all about her. I liked that about the books (at least the first three; I actually don't really count books 4 and 5 as part of the series).
