Blue Diablo Discussion Three.

Hey everyone! It's our last discussion for Blue Diablo. I know, it's sad. But we'll always have the next book to discuss :).
Speaking of next books. We were talking about doing Red-Headed Stepchild next since that was tied with this one. Not sure when we'll start. We'll let you know. With stuff going on in our lives we might hold it off for a couple weeks.
Moving on. What are your thoughts??

I only have a couple questions to get us started on the discussion.

Do you trust Jesse now? Do you think he still has something up his sleeve?

Do you think we'll see Chance and Corine together by the next book?

What about Kel? Where do you think his future stands in the series?

Melissa had these questions to add.

Will Diego Montoya show up in the future? Will we know its him as we never "saw" his face?

What do you think will happen to Jesse? Is he trustworthy now?

What of Kel? He really seems to be Gods Hand, any thoughts on him and whether we will see him again?

Could Corine's mom and dad incidents be connected some how?

Who will Corine pick? Jesse or Chance? Who do you want her to pick?

Look for our reviews coming to a blog near you.

  1. I'm not sure where to start with this now.

Kel was quite an interesting character for me to run into.

I guess I should start at this point... I really liked how nothing in the book went as I had thought it would! I love when I have to stay on my toes.

Now back to Kel... He was a great surprise for me. All that went with him, all the way to self healing. Incredable! I do think we will see him again. The evil he was to help them kill was not killed yet. So will this evil show up in book 2 or further down in the series? I'm not sure but we will see him again.

And I think Montoya will be revisited again. And the fact we never "saw" him is a great detail.

  2. Kel. What is there to say about him? Ha-ha. I kept waiting for him to turn. Like he would go all evil on her all of a sudden. I definitely think we'll see him again. Will he be good or evil? Who knows. What about Clayton? What's he up to?

I can see Montoya being part of the next book or the next. We're definitely not done with that storyline.

If her parents incidents are connected. I wonder if it's because of her.

  3. Oh yeah I think Montoya is going to be "the" bad guy that needs defeating. He'll pop up and influence the story in some way for sure.

Melissa: I agree, I didn't not see the end of this story coming. Everything I thought might happen didn't, and things I didn't expect did. I do agree I love that.

The other thing I found really surprising in general was the end. So abrupt. This is the first AA book I've read (i'm moving on to the Sci-fi ones soon) but it was a shock. I almost emailed you both to see if my kindle cut off a chapter.

  4. I do think that Jesse is meant to be "good" now. Corine is kind of pissing me off though. She's confusing me to all hell. One minute she likes him the next she like Chance. It's getting frustrating.

Kel was a shock. All around. I wonder too if he'll be a recurring character.

  5. Ok, last thought for this morning.

What did you guys think of the pacing of the story. I know it's a bit hard with the way we read the book, but did you feel like the book was all build-up and then when the real end (not the barn and zombies end) happened it was kind like "Oh, that's it"

*i liked the zombies and the detective on fire ending better*

  6. Okay, the end...

I enjoy the book as a whole. I loved all the action in the book and the love/hate relationship with Corine and Chance.

But it was quite a quick end. The story with Min seemed dull after all the action and fight for Montoya to keep her. I was a not so caught by that part.

But the abrupt ending to Corine not deciding on a man. I was bothered more by that. I wanted her to pick. I really like both of the guys, but I think I want her to be with Chance because you know he loves her for her and not the feelings she gives off.

We are going to have to do book two here sometime soon. (I had to buy it so I have it now.)

  7. I am curious from the comment by Twila about Corine's father disappearance. Twila made it seem as Corine and Chance had more in common with their parents. I am wondering if her dad didn't leave her and her mom like they thought. That maybe he was taken, for some reason... What reason?

I know it is believed by Corine that her mother was burned in the house because of people hating witches. But I wonder if that is the view of the 10 year old she was. Could there have been more behind it that Corine's not aware of?

It seems that book two will focus on Corine and Chance going after her mother's killers. So we will get these two together again on another mission.

I wonder if Jesse would be able to go since he is suspended... What a love triange!

  8. The ending did seem to go quickly. I kinda wanted to see more Min. Maybe in the next book?

I'm thinking Corine is more powerful than anyone can imagine and someone knows that. Maybe someone we haven't met yet or did meet. Maybe that person killed her mother and her dad is in hiding.

There is definitely going to be a love triangle in the next book. I'm going to feel bad for the guy who doesn't get her.

It's really hard to say which guy she should be with. We have Jesse who is turning out not to be the bad guy. We have Chance who has a history with her.

Part of me hopes she goes for Chance but I have to wonder though. Is Chance only using her? How will the two really do now that his mom is back?

  9. Part of me thinks Chance has stewed long enough in his misery. His mother even made a comment about being glad that he got Corine to help. Sounds to me like he's really been beating himself up over it.

I think maybe he has realized that he needs to change a little for Corine. As a perfect example is him dancing with her and trying to talk to her about them.

Part of me wonders if there isn't something more in Corine's past that she keeps running from. And that this might be what is holding her back from being with Chance. I think in part she has been part of what holds up her and Chance too. Just her being on the run and not completely letting down her guard with someone.

I hope Chance and Corine are together, but I love Jesse too. Two great guys to fight over her. :) Great triangle.

  10. I can't wait to see how the triangle goes for the next book. Should make some interesting scenes :).
