Sorry for this late post on Double Cross.Double Cross is the second book in the Disillusionists series by Carolyn Crane. I really do love this series. I can't wait to see where the third book goes.
We pick up where we left off. Justine and Otto have something going and she is still working for Packard.
Justine has been working on helping the highcaps. One highcap she feels doesn't deserve to be trapped, she feels they are innocent. Justine doesn't realize what she has done though by touching Ez. Now her and Packard are connected in a way she doesn't want to be. She doesn't even want to think what Otto will think when he finds out.
While that is going on though, highcaps are being killed. This brings risks to highcaps like Packard and Otto.
It's time to find out who is doing the killing and why. As they find out who is doing this, Justine is discovering more and more about Packard and Otto. That might just make her life more difficult as she tries to decide who she wants to be with.
But what happens when she finally discovers who she does want to be with? She might be risking not just her love life but her life all together.
This book does make you wish you had the third book in your hands. I seriously can't wait. Would it be wrong to beg Carolyn to give us hints? :)
I will beg right along with you. I am super anxious and in serious withdrawals. I'll have to read the whole series again like a stalker but once I know the third is on it's way, I think I'll feel better.
