Jeremiah Fall is a vampire and like all vampires, they have to start somewhere. One day, he's a human and the next, someone close to him is killing him and another family member. Before he knows it, he's turned in a beast. Through time, we see him fighting the beast.
There is a stone that might have the answers he seeks but will it? Or will he be stuck without answers? There is only one way to find out and he'll have to go on a journey to find those answers. Even if it takes over a 100 years.
The beast in him might not be his only enemy. There is still the one who started it all. The one who caused him to be the way he is now.
I really enjoyed the book. You can see that Petrucha did a lot of research for the history. So if you do love your history, you'll definitely enjoy that part of the book.
What's on your wishlist this weekend? On your wishlist is hosted by Book City Chick. Want to join in the fun? Click here.
Title: The Spirit Thief
Series: The Legend of Eli Monpress
Author: Rachel Aaron
But not just any thief. He’s the greatest thief of the age — and he’s also a wizard. And with the help of his partners — a swordsman with the most powerful magic sword in the world but no magical ability of his own, and a demonseed who can step through shadows and punch through walls — he’s going to put his plan into effect.
The first step is to increase the size of the bounty on his head, so he’ll need to steal some big things. But he’ll start small. He’ll just steal something that no one will miss — at least for a while.
Something like a king.
“Witty, smart, snappy, sassy, fast, furious and let’s not forget fun...Rachel Aaron isn’t so much knocking at the door as kicking it down.” - Tom Holt, author of Blonde Bombshell
“Wry humor, engaging characters and full-tilt action.” — Gail Z. Martin, author of The Summoner

In the last book, we are definitely wondering what could happen next. Demon Bound focused on Jack, this one focuses on Pete. I was glad of that. The first one, Street Magic was focused on Pete but we were left wondering about her. We did get some answers and we even got to learn more about her family.
The last time we saw Pete, Jack left her for Hell. She has tried to move on but you know she misses him. But what could happen when he returns? Will she welcome him with open arms? Maybe she'll want to slap him for leaving her.
Either way, she is going to need his help. But will his help be useful or will it cause her more pain? Jack isn't the only trouble that's back. A demon is back, but is the reason Pete's fault. Either way, Pete should look be on alert. Oh, and to top that off, if she misbehaves? She might find herself taken from the world.
Again, I love this series. I wasn't sure at first if this would be a filler book or not. There is always the one book that does that and I'm glad it wasn't this one. At the same time, I'm nervous. We were left with a good opener for the next book that could leave us with a lot of action. Can't wait, either way.
If you like magic, mages, demons, etc. You'll like this series.

We left off with Rose in a lot of trouble. In fact, she was sitting in a jail cell when we last saw her. Now she is on trial for the murder of the queen and we all know she didn't do it. So the question is, who did it and who would frame Rose?
She finds herself on a journey to find the killer and a piece of the puzzle that might help out her friend, Lissa who is at court, dealing with the royal families.
Can she find out everything before it's too late and she loses something valuable, like her life?
I definitely decided which team I was on by the end of the book. Actually, I take that back, maybe fifty pages in, I knew. So am I, Team Adrian or Team Dimitri? Unfortunately I can't tell you without spoiling anything.
Lissa in the last book kind of got on my nerves in the last book. This one? She wasn't so bad. There is going to be a spin off and I'm definitely looking forward to reading it. I definitely was happy the way the series ended but also sad because that meant it was over.

Delia has a special power. She can talk to statues. She is also a witch. One day while cleaning a statue and listening to it, she learns her father was in a fire. She now has to drop her life to go take care of him. The fire occurred at the Steward House, which will be hers one day.
But when she needs to find money to keep her father at the hospital and all those medical bills? Grant, comes to the rescue. There is only one problem, he wants the house. He'll do anything to get the house. All he has to do is get Delia to sell the house to him. Too bad, he becomes attracted to her.
That's not their only problem. Family comes back in the picture and things are about to get ugly.
I wasn't sure at first if I was going to like the book. I read the summary and thought, ooh this could be interesting. It took me a couple chapters but than I got into it. I definitely would love to hear your thoughts on this one.
Title: Blood Prophecy
Author: Stefan Petrucha
His name is Jeremiah Fall. A soldier of fortune, he has been fighting his own war for 150 years--ever since the beast in him was born.
Desperate to restore his lost humanity, Fall crosses the sands of Egypt, discovers a lost city off the coast of France, and finally arrives at the birthplace of all mankind. Shunning daylight and feeding only when he must, he battles the monster who transformed him forever. He can share his deepest secret with no one . . . not even the beautiful woman he starts to love, the only human who grasps the mysteries of an ebony stone as old as creation itself.
Across the world, across time, Fall seeks the stone's secret. But has he found a cure for himself or unleashed a final curse on all mankind?
As for my personal life? It's complicated. Choices worth making always are. Ever since my brother's death and my father's impeachment, it's all I can do to prevent more blood from spilling. Now our Pride is under attack by a flight of vicious thunderbirds. And making peace with our new enemies may be the only way to get the best of our old foe.
With the body count rising and treachery everywhere, my instincts tell me to look before I leap. But sometimes a leap of faith is the only real option….
Being the first female werecat enforcer isn't easy. Scars accumulate, but I'm stronger in so many ways.

Seattle. One minute you're drinking a vanilla breve, the next, some creepy old dude is breathing on you, turning you into a zombie. And that's just for starters. Now, the recently deceased Amanda Feral is trying to make her way through Seattle's undead scene with style (mortuary-grade makeup, six-inch stilettos, Balenciaga handbag on sale) while satisfying her craving for human flesh (Don't judge. And no, not like chicken.) and decent vodkatinis.

This week's question: "What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?"
Hmm....good question. Can I choose both? The plot is definitely important but where would the plot go without the characters? At the same time, a plot doesn't go anywhere without some type of character. Even if the character is a tree, lol.

Along the way she meets Keoni, a dream guardian who she feels a connection too and she can't deny it. He definitely doesn't deny it from the beginning. She might try to deny it, but there is something there. Could they be soulmates?
Of course things can't go right for her. Other monsters want her and will do what they can to get her.
Can Ciaran survive from being in harm's way or will two monsters, titled The Beast and man find her?
This was good novella and I kind of wish it was longer. But still loved it. It does have heavy sex scenes but I'm definitely curious to know what you guys think.

1. If Jack and Pete are the cause of the war. When and how will this happen?
2. Do you think Pete will tell Jack the deal she made with Belial? What will his reaction be?
3. With a baby on the way, what do you think the outcome be? Will people fear the person that baby could become, especially if his or her parents are responsible for the war starting?
1. Is all fullfilled with the deal Pete made with Belial? Will Belial be able to come back to Pete for his half of the deal? And what could he possibly come back for?
2. What do you think of Morningstar and the Union he is part of? Good or bad? Could they be trouble in the future?
3. Will Pete and Jack come clean with each other with the secrets they are keeping?

This week's question: "What is the thing you like most about reading book blogs? Is it the reviews, author guest posts, articles, giveaways or something else entirely?"
Do I really have to choose? I do love reading the reviews. It's always great to get another blogger's thought. I really love the guest posts and learning more about our favorite authors. See? Why choose just one?

This week's question:"What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?"
For me? I guess if I had to choose, it would be the latest Vampire Diaries book. I use to love the first set of books but the last two have been kind of annoying to me. I'll probably read the next one, just to see where it goes but it's bad when you enjoy the TV show over the book.
The review, I was maybe nice about it when I shouldn't have. You usually don't see negative reviews from me because I'm one of those who put the book down if I can't get into it. So the book is never finished. I always try though to finish.
