Well ladies and gentleman, we have made it to the end of Killbox. Kind of sad in a way. I have really enjoyed the series. Never fear, it's not over. We have Aftermath coming up. Keep your eyes out for Melissa and I to discuss that one. You know we will :)
So let's get started. Remember this is part three, the whole book, the series up to now discussion. So anyone is free to join in.
- Do you think there is more to Chancellor Tarn not wanting to take Ramonda out completely and just slandering her name? What do you think of her actions in the end?
- Edun Leviter has me wondering. Who is this? All the connections and that Gray men will only work through this person...Could he/she be a problem in the future?
- The Dreadnaught! Why does Jax realize it has a grimspace taste? Could this mean something? How did the Morguts get this thing with them? And are there more???
- Talk about cliffhanger. Where do you think Aftermath will pick up?
- Why do you think her mother did what she did? To save her daughter? Is there some plan we don't know about yet?
- Jael. You know I have to bring him up. I really thought he would make an appearance. Do you think his storyline is over with? What about Vel? He never said anything. So are we to assume his race still has no clue?

Then Hurricane Katrina hammers New Orleans’ fragile levees, unleashing more than just dangerous flood waters.
While winds howled and Lake Pontchartrain surged, the borders between the modern city and the Otherworld crumbled. Now, the undead and the restless are roaming the Big Easy, and a serial killer with ties to voodoo is murdering soldiers sent to help the city recover.
To make it worse, Gerald St. Simon has gone missing, the wizards’ Elders have assigned a grenade-toting assassin as DJ’s new partner, and undead pirate Jean Lafitte wants to make her walk his plank. The search for Gerry and the killer turns personal when DJ learns the hard way that loyalty requires sacrifice, allies come from the unlikeliest places, and duty mixed with love creates one bitter gumbo

Author: Marcus Sedgwick
Have you ever had the feeling that you've lived another life? Been somewhere that has felt totally familiar, even though you've never been there before, or felt that you know someone well, even though you are meeting them for the first time? It happens. In 2073 on the remote and secretive island of Blessed, where rumour has it that no one ages and no children are born, a visiting journalist, Eric Seven, and a young local woman known as Merle are ritually slain. Their deaths echo a moment ten centuries before, when, in the dark of the moon, a king was slain, tragically torn from his queen. Their souls search to be reunited, and as mother and son, artist and child, forbidden lovers, victims of a vampire they come close to finding what they've lost. In a novel comprising seven parts, each influenced by a moon - the flower moon, the harvest moon, the hunter's moon, the blood moon - this is the story of Eric and Merle whose souls have been searching for each other since their untimely parting. Beautifully imagined, intricately and cleverly structured, this is a heart-wrenching and breathtaking love story with the hallmark Sedgwick gothic touches of atmosphere, blood-spilling and sacrifice.

Author: Lynda Hiburn
Denver Psychologist Kismet Knight, Ph.D., doesn’t believe in the paranormal. She especially doesn’t believe in vampires. So what happens when she finds herself neck-deep in the vampire underworld?
Kismet is smart, witty and attractive. She’s respected in her field, successful and prosperous. She’s followed all the rules – done everything right. So, what’s the problem? Her life is empty. There’s no passion. No vitality. No excitement.
That is, until a new client introduces Kismet to the vampire underworld, and a drop-dead gorgeous, 800-year-old vampire named Devereux. Kismet isn’t buying the vampire story, but can’t explain why she has such odd reactions and feelings whenever Devereux is near. Kismet is soon forced to open her mind to other possibilities when she is visited in her office by two angry bloodsuckers, who would like nothing better than to challenge Devereux by hurting Kismet.
As Kismet gets pulled deeper and deeper into the vampire subculture, she struggles to hold onto her professional ideas about what is and isn’t “real.” The more she finds herself attracted to the charismatic, handsome Devereux, the more out of control her life becomes.
When one of her clients shows up in her office almost completely drained of blood, Kismet finds herself immersed in an ongoing murder investigation. Kismet is questioned by irreverent, handsome FBI profiler Alan Stevens, who warns her that vampires are very real. And one is a murderer. A murder who is after her.
In the midst of all this, Kismet realizes she has feelings for both the vampire and the profiler, but even though she cares for each of the men, facing the reality that vampires exist – along with all the other supernatural insanity she discovers – is enough of a challenge. For now.

So what would you do if you had to get a permit to be a demon slayer? Now that Lizzie knows what she is, she has to have a permit. Things don't go smoothly though. She has to deal with a test but also her uncle is missing. Not just missing, but with a succubus.
She'll find herself going to Las Vegas with her grandmother and witch friends. Oh and let's not forget her sexy griffin shapeshifter, Dimitri.
What does the succubus want? Is Lizzie in for a long ride? What happens when Dimitri is in trouble? Better yet, what's going on with Lizzie's power? Is she turning evil?
This book is the second book in the series and picks up after the first one. I enjoyed this one just like the last. You get romance, some action, and even humor. Who doesn't love a talking dog?
You could probably read this one without reading the first one. You do get a back story of the first book but I would say go for it. Read the first book, if you haven't.
Can't wait to see what happens next.
