So I finally read book two in the Hunger Games series, Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. Just like the first book, I was hooked. After watching the first movie and reading the first book. I really hope the second movie is better. Don't get me wrong, I liked the first movie but I felt like we were missing so much. Where were the emotions? I know they had to change some of the violent scenes, which I'm okay with but my big thing was the whole emotions and not getting personal with the character. I know it's a two hour movie but I've watched plenty of movies based off books and I got to know the character still.Anyways, Catching Fire does pick up after Hunger Games. So if you haven't read Hunger Games, I would recommend doing so. Otherwise you will get very confused on who the characters are.
Just when Katniss thinks it's all over. She can try to move on but she knows she won't be able to. President Snow wants to teach her a lesson. Gale wants something more. Peeta still truly cares for her.
To make matters worse, the 75th annual Hunger Games is starting and she'll have to be involved one way or another. She gets a surprise though about the games that she didn't expect. She really shouldn't be surprised though due to her actions.
While she is dealing with the games, uprisings are happening all over and she might just be the cause of it.
I can't wait to read the conclusion of the series, Mockingjay.
